1. What is a Barcode?

Barcodes, also referred to as UPC-12 and EAN-13 codes, are simply unique numbered-codes (12 or 13 digits in length) that, when logged with a retailer, allow for the tracking and monitoring of a product within their digital inventories.

2. Will my Barcode be compatible with all retail products?

All retail products in Zimbabwe, with the exception of magazines and books, must have EAN or UPC barcodes. This includes a wide range of products such as dishwashing liquid, bread, kettles, health products, and toothpicks.

Books and magazines have their own barcode system known as ISBN and ISSN, which are issued by the National Archives of Zimbabwe. However, we can help you obtain an ISBN or ISSN barcode number and design the barcode image for you!

3. How many Barcode numbers do I Need?

In order to sell different variations of a product, such as different sizes, flavors, colors, and variations, you will need a separate barcode for each. For example, if you are selling Orange and Raspberry flavored drinks in two different sizes, you would need to have four unique barcodes.

Having separate barcodes allows retailers to accurately track the sales data for each product variation and make informed decisions. For example, if the 1-liter Orange flavored drinks are selling faster than the others, retailers can order more of that specific product to meet the demand.

4. How does my product become associated with the Barcode?

Here is how you can get your product associated with a Barcode:

1. Purchase a Barcode number assignment.
2. Apply the13-digit/12-digit Barcode to your product.
3. Provide the retailer with your product details, barcode number, and company information.
4. The retailer registers this information into their sales and inventory management system, linking your product and company to the barcode.
5. Your product can now be easily tracked through scanning at the register for accurate sales and inventory management.

5. Will my Bar Code be scannable?

If you print your barcode at a quality of at least 300dpi and with the correct dimensions as listed on our barcode sizing page, it will be scannable. This is crucial for labels, packaging, cd covers, or any other printed materials containing your barcode.

6. How can I place an order and what payment methods do you accept?
